This is a Week of Firsts for Me – My First Blog Award and First Giveaway!

A Caveat of the Award is that I have to share 7 Things About Me:
  1. I always thought Twitter was a colossal waste of time until I tried it, now I’m addicted!
  2. I drink wine from a box most of the time – Franzia Rhine being my current favorite.
  3. I never imagined I’d be a soccer mom with 5 kids – how the hell did THAT happen?
  4. I am 36 and still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.
  5. If I could, I’d take in all the homeless animals in the world ( as long as my husband took care of them).
  6. I recently had 15 people evaluate me and unanimously they scored me 5 (0ut of 5) as Will Speak up if I Disagree with Someone… can be good and can be bad too…
  7. I graduated from University of Florida and thought that Tebow was a kick boxing video

Enough about me…

My friend Tiffany over at Wyatt Family Farm recently surprised me with this blog award!  I feel so honored.  What a week of firsts!  My first giveaway and the same night I post it I am honored with my first blog award.  How did Tiffany know I needed some extra support this week?   It’s my 2nd week of working full time and it is really only Tuesday?  Holy cow, these 5 day work weeks take a loooong time!  Add a performance review and 360 evaluation results to the mix?  Yep, that box of wine is nearly gone!

Background

Tiffany is an amazing blogger and new to blogging the same as I am.  She is a natural!  Tiffany (Wyatt Family Farm) along with From PDX with Love and  Mommy Only Has Two Hands, have a great Thursday Blog Hop called A Year Ago Today.  I have really enjoyed participating for a few reasons, but the greatest being reflecting on photos and taking a moment to appreciate my memories.  Check it out and join in the fun!

On to the awards

I have been amazingly blessed with the wonderful men and women bloggers that I have met.  I am thrilled to be able to pass this award on to highlight some of the great blogs and bloggers that I’ve discovered in my journey.   Each and every one of the people I honor here is worth following!  You will be fortunate to have them in your lives.  Seriously, go check them out.  VERY supportive, real people….

  1. That was a nice acceptance speech. I love how you included a little bit about each blogger. So funny cause I always think people don’t know my alter egos on twitter lol! Congrats on the award! You deserve it!

    • I recognize you have the 2 at least, but I haven’t added my sites to Split Cybernality yet. I tried once, but ran into trouble and plan to go back…. LOVE your humor on HelpMamaRemote!!! :)

  2. I love awards–thanks Daria!
    Ok 7 things about me:
    ~I’m somewhat anti-social
~I could live on garlic bread, chocolate, and Trader Joe’s Vodka of the Gods
~I have deep, philosophical conversations with my Siberian Husky
~I love volunteering at my son’s elementary school–it’s like therapy to me :D
~My son’s teachers laugh when I insist that four hours of laminating and correcting penmanship homework is akin to Xanax
~I’m an awesome kickboxer (Bam! Bam! Bam!)
~I love writing a psychotherapy blog because…We All Have Issues…

OK, feeling somewhat narcissistic here, Daria.

    Thanks again ;)
    ~Linda

    • Damn, when are we going to get a Trader Joe’s in CO? All the cool women I know rave about it! I can so relate to the dog therapy sessions – what is the meaning of life? Hey, you, stop licking your rear, I’m talking to you :) I just volunteered in my kids’ school on Friday for the Fun Run and it is the happiest my hubby and I have been in the past 2 months. THAT is what life is all about…..

Thanks Linda for the insights! :)

  3. Daria, you are the hardest working, multi-tasker I have run into in a while. This just in… You are also TOO KIND. Thank you for putting me on your list. A real privilege, happy to be associated with you and those of your ilk… We need more boys!! haha I can’t come up with 7 things, I’m not that interesting.
    1. I’m an introvert. Although you’ve never met me in person, this would be shocking.
    2. When my 10 year old son is pitching, I want to vomit. I’m the coach. He’s pretty good but I’m still SOOOOO nervous for him.
    3. My daughter is beautiful and brilliant. No, seriously. Is that wrong?
    4. My career is on hold. I had 20 years and cranked it out. My kids are 10ish and I’m here for them while my wife runs with her career. It’s not the norm but I love it!
    5. I’m a crazy busy body and love to run.

    That’s all I got.
    Thanks again, Daria!!
    Brian

  4. Daria, you are the best! Thank you so much for bestowing this honor upon me, again. I really appreciate it and I’m sending you big hugs from NYC. I will definitely pass this on as soon as I have a free moment.

    • A free moment? When exactly does that happen? I’d LOVE to know! Essentially since I had my daughter 9 years ago this December, there really hasn’t been a “free” moment….
