Instructions:
Boil the noodles to al dente and drain. Put some sauce on the bottom of your lasagna pan (just some so noodles won’t stick), add a layer of noodles, add some sauce, take large spoonfuls of ricotta cheese (3 or 4) and randomly place on top, repeat for another layer. Top with mozzarella cheese, cover with foil and bake at 350deg for about 45min. Take foil off for last 10 min to brown the cheese.
*Variation: The photo above shows when I used fresh mozzarella slices to top the baked ziti. Using small cubes of fresh mozzarella within the layers is delicious also! Very rich texture and flavor.
If you want to add browned italian sausage, browned hamburger, sauteed peppers and onions – they are all good. Just cook them first and then add to the spaghetti sauce before placing in lasagna pan.
