My weight loss weigh in for 1/9/2012 to 1/15/2012.
I have sworn off alcohol for 30 days. People keep asking me why and ultimately it comes down to more than one:
- I don’t need the calories.
- I felt like with the holidays I was drinking all the time.
- It is a depressant.
- Drunk is even more unattractive at 38 than it was at 28 or 18.
- It isn’t part of the Nutrisystem plan.
So far I’ve found that when I’m tempted to pour a glass of wine, I’ve kept my hands and mouth busy with snacking. This hasn’t really helped with my weight loss goals, so I’m still holding even – but I expect that to change here soon.
- Total weight loss to date – 8.4 pounds.
- First goal 10 pounds (1.6 lbs to go).
Week’s Weight Loss Goals
I have not been running like I wanted to, so have decided to sign up for a 5K in April to keep me motivated to complete the Couch to 5K running program. A friend from our Empty the Trunk Facebook Group recommended I check out Active.com for a list of all the local runs and she was right! It has a ton of upcoming events listed, so no more excuses! I’m thinking to sign up for the Frank Shorter Race 4 Kid’s Health scheduled for April 15th in Broomfield.
So, my goals for this week include:
- exercise 3 times,
- follow Nutrisystem closely, and
- drink no alcohol.

I’m so impressed that you are sticking to your no-alcohol pledge. I thought about you tonight when I considered opening a bottle of pinot noir to go with my homemade pizza… and I opted for iced tea instead. See, you’re rubbing off on me.
Well, Le’Ann, I have to admit to “cheating” this week. But jumping right back on the wagon and not getting derailed.
Sometimes a little cheat is just what we need. Tonight I will be celebrating my temporary (2 day) unemployment with… wine. Of course! I’m sure that all the lunches out with co-workers this past week have not helped my weight loss efforts any. We’ll see tomorrow.
