When I was a kid I thought my parents’ dependency on coffee was ridiculous.  Even into my teens, college years and 20′s I was never a coffee drinker.  I loved the smell percolating through the house, but the taste was bitter and didn’t appeal to me.   But then a couple of things happened that changed my mind:

1.  I stopped sleeping had a child.

2.  Flavored creamers were invented.

Now that I’m a coffee addict  connoisseur, even with the creamer I add to my coffee, I can tell the difference in the base flavor of the coffee itself.  Some are too harsh and no amount of creamer can mask it.  Some are too weak and it tastes like watery creamer with no coffee flavor at all.

How does Sogno Coffee stack up?

I was recently lucky enough to be able to review two of Sogno Coffee’s blends:

• Sole (bold)
• Cielo (medium-roast)

Keep in mind that my personal preference is a good flavor that isn’t harsh or too strong.  The Sole was pretty good, but definitely has a bold flavor.   It wasn’t at all bitter though.  My friend was here and likes bold coffee – she really enjoyed the Sole.

My favorite was the Cielo.  Great flavor!  I want to say it was robust and well rounded.  I’m not really sure what that means when describing a coffee, but those are the two words that describe it my mind.  Another way to put it – it was more mild than the Sole and almost a little sweet, although that could have been the creamer.  Regardless of the word choice, I was honestly impressed with the flavor -much better than what I normally pick up in the grocery store.
