- Family vacation
- Time with my grandparents
- Sun and fun on the beach (I grew up in FL), and
- Summer camp
I have a theory that childhood memories are the ones that stick around the longest – especially those of vacations, fun, and camp. I want to make sure I give my kids the opportunity to make lots of amazing memories.
This year my daughter turned 10 which I think is a perfect age for sleep away camp. She’s used to having sleepovers, is independent, able to take care of herself, and hopefully, too young to spend the entire time drooling over the boys.
There is a local company that has both day camps and over night camps in Boulder and Denver (very convenient for me) called Altogether Outdoors.
The camps are pretty affordable, especially for everything the kids get out of it (hiking, biking, ropes course, horseback riding, pool), but with my husband still unemployed and me having just started working again, I am not feeling like this is the right summer financially.
Therefore, I am entering to win a session of Colorado summer camp for a child at Altogether Outdoors from The SITS Girls. By the way, you can enter for your child (or sponsor someone else’s child) too.
I hope my daughter is chosen. She is extremely athletic and would be beside herself with excitement about the ropes course and horseback riding. Plus I really thing that summer camp boosts independence and self confidence. I’d love for her to have this experience.
If we don’t win, then hopefully by next summer we’ll be in a position to be able to send her and her brother (he’s 8). I’d love to have summer camp and all the benefits that come with it be a summer tradition in our home.
Did you go to summer camp? Do your kids?
