My family loves this recipe! Plus it is super simple, includes veggies, and is quick. What more can a mom want?
Italian Sausage & Broccoli Ingredients
- 1/2 lb Hot Italian Sausage
- 1/2 lb Mild Italian Sausage
- 3 – 4 cloves of garlic (diced)
- 14 oz Chicken Broth
- 2 Heads of Broccoli Crowns
- 2 Boxes of Pasta (I like Rotini or Rigatoni)
- Salt to taste
- Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Olive Oil
Italian Sausage Pasta Directions
Step 1: Boil the pasta.

Tip: You can use any type of pasta you’d like. I’ve been using the whole grain or whole wheat.
Step 2: While pasta water is getting hot, brown the sausage in the olive oil and garlic.
Tip: I’ve been using the chicken sausage from Sunflower Market to reduce calories. Pork works well too.
Step 3: Once the sausage is browned, add the chicken broth then turn down heat and allow to simmer.
Step 4: Prepare broccoli by rinsing and cutting down to bite size florets.
Step 5: Cook broccoli.
Tip: To save on pans and time, I add the broccoli to the pasta when there are 5 to 6 minutes left before the pasta is done. Then drain them together.
Step 6: Drain the pasta and broccoli and add to the sausage. Stir and add salt to taste. Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese.

That looks great and eazy. I’m going to have to give it a try.
