Today, Veteran’s Day, has me reflecting on the joy and pride I feel to have been raised in America.
As a woman, I am incredibly fortunate to have been raised in a country that values me, that listens to me, that protects me. There are millions of women in the world that are not as fortunate as I.
But my freedom to do anything I want, say anything I feel, and be anything I can dream hasn’t come cheap. It has been earned by the blood, sweat and tears of our nation.
So today I am thankful for those that have served in our military. I am grateful to those I’ve never met, to those I call friends, and to my family:
- great-grandfather (Army – WWI),
- grandfather (Army – WWII),
- father (Army – Vietnam)
- husband (Marines)
Catch up on my other thankful days…
