Ubooly – Hot Toy for 2012 Giveaway!

Ubooly – Hot Toy for 2012 Giveaway!

I have had a tough time figuring out what to get my kids for Christmas this year, plus two of them have birthdays a few weeks before and after Christmas so I have double present expectations to fulfill.

The expensive big presents are easy to identify even if they aren’t all that easy on my pocketbook, but the toys were hard for me.

Thankfully I was given an Ubooly for my daughter – I had NO idea what a great toy this was!  It wasn’t anywhere on my radar even though it was developed right in my back yard – Boulder, Colorado.  Have you heard of Uboolys?ubooly giveawayWithin moments of giving the Ubooly to my 4 year old and loading it with my iPhone, she was entranced.

First night playing with Ubooly

As you can tell from the picture, my daughter loves talking to the Ubooly.  She drives what the Ubooly does.  But my favorite feature is that if she doesn’t know what she wants, the Ubooly will ask/suggest an activity.  “Do you want me to tell you a story?”

Within one night Chloe had the Ubooly:

  • telling her jokes (kid appropriate).
  • playing music to her from the selection on my phone.
  • reading her a story.
  • playing games.

The Ubooly is geared toward children age 4 to 9 and my 8 year old proved that 8 definitely isn’t too old for an Ubooly.  He was on the edge of his seat for a chance to play with Chloe’s Ubooly.  His favorite part is the interactive games that he can play to earn points so he can feed the digital Ubooly.

One of the things that makes this toy different from the others is that the games and software are updated weekly so my kids aren’t going to get bored hearing the same jokes or run out of levels to play on the games.  It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Plus it’s almost like my daughter has a new orange friend.

  1. I am shopping for my 3 year old (soon to be 4 year old) daughter. So, this would be perfect. And I love that it isn’t another cluttering toy to add to the piles everywhere in our house!

  2. Ages 19, 15, 13, 9, 7, & 4. Thanks for the fun giveaway! I had not heard of this toy, either, but it looks like a great gift for my 9 yr old daughter or 7 year old nephew. (No, I don’t have 6 kids! Mine are 19, 13 & 9 — the other three are my brother & sister’s kids.) :0)

  3. I have never heard of a Ubooly but I bet my son would love it! It looks so cute :) and the fact that they update it weekly is great. Kids can get bored easily, too bad I missed the giveaway though.

  4. I’m REALLY bummed I missed this giveaway. What a super cool toy! We don’t have an iPad but we are getting one after Christmas (hey, hey Christmas money!). I will have to put this on my list of things to remember for daughter’s birthday in the summer.
