One of the great perks of being a blogger is getting deliveries of new products to try – like this one of Dole Fruit Parfaits that showed up on my doorstep a few weeks ago thanks to Mom It Forward and Dole.
I’m a diehard peaches fan and my kids love pineapples, so those were the two flavors I picked to have delivered. But, the combination of real fruit with light creme was so appealing to the kids (ok, you caught me – and me) that I bought the apple on my own too. (They are in the canned fruit aisle for about $2.79/package if you’re looking.)
This picture was taken about 30 seconds after we opened the box from Dole, so I’d say they were a hit! I can’t think of a testimonial that gets much better than a licked clean bowl and spoon.
Personally I am thrilled that the kids liked these so much because I am always looking for ways to get more fruits and vegetables into their diets. Dole Fruit Parfaits are made with natural fruit, are high Vitamin C, low fat, cholesterol free, and low in sodium so make me feel pretty good about adding them to their lunches in the morning or pointing them to have one as an after school snack.
I’ve also found they are sweet enough to satisfy my dessert craving at the end of the day and at only 120 calories, they don’t break my calorie budget. So, really the only issue I have is making sure I have enough for both the kids and me.
