Thanks to Disney, Walmart and Glidden, Chloe’s room is getting a make over!! I don’t know who is more excited about being picked to be a Disney Paint Mom – Me or Chloe. I think it may be her, but it’s a close call.
Although we’ve been talking about redoing her room for awhile, this opportunity was really the kick in the pants we needed to get started. It began to feel real when we headed to Walmart to check out the Disney paints (112 colors) and 5 new specialty finishes they carry.
Walmart sells paint. Who knew? I guess I’ve skipped this section in the past, but they actually have a pretty large selection of paint and the low prices we’ve come to expect from Walmart.
All 3 kids and I went to Walmart so that Chloe could have a hand in picking her colors. There were so many to choose from I was sure we’d end up with a rainbow of colors and I’d end up guiding her to narrow it down. Not so! She knew exactly what color she wanted and zero’d right in on it with hardly any waffling at all. You’ll have to stay tuned to post #2 to learn what she chose…
The special finishes were a huge hit with all 3 kids and sparked some “Mom, can I have this in my room?” requests from the two olders. I have to admit I was pretty excited about the projects we could make and the ideas that were shown in the handouts by the paints.
We had to choose between:
- All that Glitters
- Ready, Set, Glow!
- Great Slate (Chalkboard paint tintable to any color you want!)
- Magnificent Metallic
They come in both quart and gallon sizes which is nice for if you only want to do a small project versus an entire wall. The paint was surprisingly affordable too – approximately $10 to $15 per quart depending on which finish you wanted and less than $30 per gallon.
It was SO hard to narrow it down to just one. In fact, although we settled on the All that Glitters finish, I’ve been thinking about her room and may have to go back and get some of the tintable chalkboard paint (Great Slate) as well… You’ll have to wait until the reveal post to see.
