Weight Loss

  • Set physical challenges, not just scale ones.  Some examples are 10,000 steps a day for 5 days and first to get there wins a prize.  Couch to 5K program.  Exercise 3x a week, etc.
  • Eat an apple a day to keep the weight away (high fiber).
  • Cut out liquid calories such as wine, soda, juice and coffee.
  • Reduce carbohydrates.
  • Fat Secret or other on-line journal system.
  • Active Lifestyle for breakfast.
  • Increase your fiber.
  • Drink a gallon of water a day.  Lime or Lemon in it helps the flavor.
  • Get your spouse on board and supportive.
  • Wear a pedometer and increase your target steps each week by 500 steps until you are consistently 10,000 steps or above.
  • Wii Fit, Sports Active and Zumba
  • Substitute healthy snacks.
  • Eat Popsicles for dessert instead of high calorie sweets.
